I just realized a few minutes ago that the new Transformers movie opens up tonight for watching.
Reviews across the net have been unbelievably awesome.
If, by "awesome," I mean "flaming shit on a stick, lost deep inside a spoiled semen factory," then yes... awesome.
Hell, I pretty much have to go watch it now, though. I've read so many bad reviews of this thing that I need to see it myself, just to write another bad review. No worries, faithful readers... I'll definitely let you know if I decide to have my brains thrown violently into an industrial-sized radioactive cement mixer and ground into corn meal.
However, horrifying Michael Bay movie aside, there IS something great that can come out of a day like this, and that's this awesome clip from what should have been Transformers: The Movie part II in 1987.
Let's just all pretend that they actually DID make this film and it's just been lost in the wash for the past 22 years. Along with the highly-rumored Scarface Prequel: Montana Rising and Ghandi III: Overdrive.
Happy Transformer Celebration Day and have your pets spayed & neutered!

The first Transformers was surprisingly enjoyable. But it was just barely enjoyable, it somehow straddled the line between ridiculous and enjoyable. Most Michael Bay films just go straight to ridiculous. And Transformers 2 seems to go back to Mr. Bay's forte. But I will go watch this train wreck if only to witness the shit storm in person.
